After six long, hard, and arduous years, Brasil's very own Drag Race has finally arrived to the scene. For the longest time, it appeared the season would never be made when facing such adversities as the right-wing extremist politics of Brazil's president Jair Bolsonaro. However, the franchise proved to be diligent and the very first season of Drag Race Brasil finally premiered in August 2023.

The premiere season of Drag Race Brasil introduced a whole crop of brand new icons in the RuPaul Cinematic Universe, including (but not limited to) Organzza, Betina Polaroid, Hellena Malditta, and Shannon Skarllet. The whole cast of queens brought their absolute best to this season, perhaps because they know Brazilian drag has a world-renown reputation, which they wanted to uphold.

And uphold they did! With incredible runways, good drama, and charismatic confessionals, the very first season of Drag Race Brasil proved to be an entertaining watch, especially for first time viewers.

This season did have its fair share of controversy, however, which can be expected with any season of Drag Race. Much of the controversy, however, revolved around the crowned winner Organzza, with many fans accusing her of being the product of production rigging (allegedly).
