1968 MGC Door Lock Fix/Replacement Procedures

This post is sort of null & void at this point. I have since replaced my driver & passenger door locks with complete new units but there is still knowledge to be passed in this post and maybe it will help someone else out there in MGC-Land.

After purchasing my MGC at auction I soon realized that I did not have a working key for the passenger door. The car came with 4 keys including one which started the car, one that opened the glove box and one that opened the drivers door and boot lid (trunk) and a seemingly useless 4th key that did not open/operate anything in/on the vehicle. The passenger door was a mystery, none of the keys would open/lock this door although some of them would fit in the lock.

This post will show you how to modify the lock assembly of a door so that any key of your choice (that physically fits in the lock) will open/lock the door.
