Onam is an emotion rather than a festivity which hangs out in the soul of each Malayali. That's why we carry the whole of it even when we migrate to somewhere else. In future, perhaps we will be celebrating Onam on another planet. That time is not far off. The migrants from earth invites Mahabali to their new habitat, Suthala, a new planet similar to Earth.

"Kottupuram" is a Malayalam word that can be broken down into two parts: "Kottu" means "constellation" or "cluster of stars" and "Puram" means "space" or "arena"

So, "Kottupuram" can be roughly translated to "stellar space" or "constellation arena". In the context of our program, "Kottuppurathonam" refers to an Onam celebrated in space.

With that spirit in mind, Thincians of Ernakulam branch has envisioned such a futuristic onam in our institute to showcase how such cultural festivities would still be celebrated wherever we Keralites go.
