The Sega Genesis is better than you think

The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive is a very capable console for its day and perhaps even beyond its lifespan. Although there were some features present in The SNES that were not a part of the Genesis through direct hardware support... Sega's console was versatile enough to brute force many of the higher level graphical effects of more advanced technologies.

The SNES required additional processing help to run many of it's best games. The Genesis could handle everything all on its own.
This system was truly on another level for its day.
Let's take a quick look at just some of the ways in which The Genesis was able to achieve the impossible and how some clever hackers have proven that this may indeed be the ultimate 16 bit video game experience.
