A short clip taken from the windows of the Trans Karoo Express train en-route from Johannesburg to Cape Town in 1989. This was to be one of the very last Expresses over the pass as the pass line was replaced a few months later by the long Hex River tunnel. In 1989 the South African Railways still had a fantastic passenger service with great dining cars and service as will be seen in the clip.
