The CTA had finally opened up the newest station on the city’s west side at West Town. Planning for the Damen Green Line Station was proposed on around 2017, and the construction for the station began about four years later, due to a shortage of supplies (from what I read through sources). Now, after 18 months of active construction/maintenance, and a building permit finally granted to the CTA, the new Green Line station is now serving a portion of the 1.5 miles gap of track and surrounding area between Kedzie/Lake and Ashland/Lake. It serves easier and closer access to the United Center Sports Arena and the West Town neighborhood. Enjoy some few action clips I took today on this hot humid opening of the brand new Damen/Lake Green Line Station.
