Shining Force: Kamigami no Isan (シャイニング・フォース 神々の遺産) was first released in Japan in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive, following the next year in 1993 with the rest of the world release as Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention on the Sega Genesis and Pal Mega Drive. It is usually known just as Shining Force. This turn-based tactical role-playing game was developed by Climax and was the second release in the Shining series following Shining in the Darkness that was released in 1991. However, unlike Shining in the Darkness that is a more traditional RPG, Shining Force was the first tactical RPG in the franchise.

It is known as one of the best games on the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive
