Скачать или смотреть PH Maritime Administration collaborates with Stakeholders to finalize Pre-Audit Questionnaire

Considered as the first line of defense for the International Maritime Organization Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) and as one of the mandatory requirements for the said audit, the Philippine maritime administration reviewed for its finalization the Pre-Audit Questionnaire (PAQ) through an inter-agency meeting convened from 07 to 08 June 2023 at the MARINA Board Room.

Atty. Julius A. Yano, Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary for Maritime, chaired the said meeting wherein the attendees were grouped according to their functions and responsibilities under the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III-Code) to finalize and harmonize the sections in the PAQ before submitting the latter to the IMO.

The said inter-agency meeting was participated by the IMSAS Consultant, Engr. JoseVenancio Vero, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) IMSAS Focal Point, Engr. Ramon C. Hernandez, representatives from the DOTr, MARINA, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Cebu Port Authority (CPA), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA).

The completion of the PAQ review process signifies a significant step forward for the Philippines in enhancing its compliance with international maritime standards. By prioritizing the IMSAS requirements, the Philippine maritime administration is demonstrating its commitment to maritime safety, security, and environmental protection.
