Ever have one of those travel days where everything just feels off?
This trip started with a grumpy gate agent who tried to send me to the kiosk — not today, ma’am. After hours in the United Club, lightning delays, and a random seat glitch that bounced me from first class to the back of the plane and back again, I finally landed at DFW… only to find out the chaos was just getting started.
My next stop: Quality Inn in Denton, Texas, right off I-35. Sounds simple enough — until the front desk refused my Comdata card because it had my company name on it. Luckily, I had my wife’s card on hand, or I would’ve been sleeping in the truck. The room was $74 — and while the bed was soft and the shower solid, the towels were disgusting and the vibe was off from the start.
I took a full room tour, tested the coffee, and showed the little things that make or break a night’s stay: the old-school fridge, creaky chair, working A/C, and that mystery stain towel I refused to touch.
