Carpe Geo & The Case for GIS Strategic Planning (part 1)

Описание к видео Carpe Geo & The Case for GIS Strategic Planning (part 1)

February 25, 2019 - Presentation by William (Bill) Johnson. Bill, a former New York State GIO and President of the NYS GIS Association, has been a great friend of GISMO and NYC GIS in general. For example, during the response to 9/11, Bill helped lead State support for the City’s mapping efforts, organizing aerial photography and remote sensing flights over the World Trade Center. In his talk, Bill urges GIS managers and practitioners to seize opportunities to assert the power of GIS, coining the term “Carpe Geo.” Bill, who now works for Applied Geographics, was joined by Kate Hickey, also of AppGeo, who spoke about the importance and methods of GIS strategic planning; and Frank Winters the current NYS GIO who traveled from Albany.
