"Trondheimsveien" is one of the longest roads in Oslo. It stretches from "Nybrua" at "Grünerløkka" to the city limits at "Gjelleråsen". The road passes through a number of districts: "Grünerløkka", "Sagene", "Nordre Aker", "Bjerke", "Grorud", and "Stovner". It is an old main artery into the city with 13.2 km long in Oslo municipality. The newest part is the section, from "Nybrua" to "Lakkegata", which was built in 1857, thirty years after the bridge was put into use. This part was named "Trondheimsveien", after the city of "Trondheim", already then, while the rest was named after the city expansion in 1879. The area along "Trondheimsveien" has been developed. It is now an important road for traffic to and from the Drabant towns in "Groruddalen", and is a four-lane road from "Sinsen" to "Grorud". There is a tram from "Nybrua" to "Sinsen", and there are several bus lines that use the road.
