Tomb of Seti I - Secrets of the Giant Royal Tombs of Ancient Egypt｜ WORLD SCAN PROJECT’s Challenge

The royal tomb of Seti I was built in the 13th century BC near Luxor, Egypt, and is the largest and most magnificent tomb in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb is renowned for its ornate decoration, and the murals depict Seti I's journey to the underworld, "The Book of Amduat" and "The Book of Gates", and other ancient Egyptian views of the afterlife and the cosmos. In particular, the celestial chart on the arched ceiling shows the ancient Egyptians' deep understanding and belief in the universe. 3D scanning by the WORLD SCAN PROJECT has digitised these murals and decorations with high precision, allowing people from all over the world to observe the interior. Passing the baton of history from the ancient to the future through digital technology is our dream and mission.
