RHEM I SE: The Mysterious Land is the special edition re-release of RHEM, a 2003 first-person adventure game developed by Knut Mueller, the independent game developer, musician, and 3D artist responsible for every aspect of the series except the acting and translation. Unlike many other adventure games, RHEM is noteworthy for having almost no story. Instead, it focuses entirely on clever puzzles, complex world navigation, and an unsettling, desolate atmosphere.

The SE version includes a few new features, such as the following: A new area, 3 new puzzles, a "skip mode" which lets you traverse large distances in one click, a "new" soundtrack (mostly reused RHEM 3/4 tracks), some new sound effects, a few new clues for old puzzles, and various other minor improvements.
