HI-DRIVE SHOWCASE #1 – SPOTLIGHT ON ENABLERS.

The European Commission together with the European Partnership on Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) and the FAME project are organized the 4th European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD 2023), in Brussels on 3-4 May 2023.
In parallel, the European Council for Automotive R&D (EUCAR) held its annual event at Autoworld Brussels from 3-5 May 2023, where, over the course of 3 days – starting with the joint EUCAD/EUCAR Reception and ending with the EUCAR conference – the European flagship project Hi-Drive held its first Showcase. In a large scale exhibition, Hi-Drive will presented 10 fully equipped research vehicles and 4 information booths, turning the spotlight on its ‘Enabler’ technologies that are being prepared for deployment and testing across Europe.
This event brought together political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with high-level representatives of industry, academia, and road authorities from across Europe and internationally, to discuss whether our societies are prepared for the deployment of smart, inclusive, and sustainable mobility solutions.
After a slick build-up at the Autoworld museum’s mezzanine during the day, a high level VIP-delegation and visitors were invited to unveil the large exhibition while networking among the exhibits. On the second day selected guests and further VIPs visited each Hi-Drive exhibit for in-depth presentations and discussions. Finally and in closing, the #EUCAR Conference took place, themed around highlighting the crucial role of collaborative research and innovation in the automotive industry in creating knowledge and attracting skills. Keynote speaker Aria Etemad, Volkswagen Group Innovation and Hi-Drive project coordinator opened the session on #digitaltransformation to a large audience of specialists.
