Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama in moist foothills as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with pendant short stems carrying a single, terete, fleshy, acute, dark green flushed with red leaf with the rhizome producing one stem and leaf and then in the later spring to early summer, an single to 5 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb that carries nocturnally fragrant, waxy flowers.
