Rolex Giraglia 2023 - Race Start

One of the Mediterranean’s most renowned sailing events is celebrating a significant milestone this year. First held in 1953, the Rolex Giraglia is marking its 70th anniversary and edition, offering an opportune moment to celebrate a competition with a rich heritage and a distinct spirit of camaraderie. Rolex has partnered the race and its organizer Yacht Club Italiano (YCI) since 1998. The YCI is supported in its efforts by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the Yacht Club de France and Yacht Club Sanremo. Following three days of inshore racing in Saint-Tropez, France, an international fleet of 155 yachts commenced today’s offshore race, running at a shortened distance of 215-nautical miles (398 kilometres) to Genoa, Italy and encompassing the rounding of the race’s emblematic landmark, the Giraglia rock.
