G. E. Ghali, DDS, MD, FACS, FRCS(Ed), is a surgeon and instructor of craniomaxillofacial surgery at WK Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Institute, part of Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana. His surgical and teaching interests include oral surgery, facial trauma, cleft and craniofacial surgery, head and neck cancer surgery and reconstruction, facial cosmetics and facial pain disorders, sleep apnea, and transoral robotic surgery. He takes special interest in the treatment of pediatric craniofacial deformities including craniosynostosis, cleft lip and palate, and dentofacial deformities.

Originally from Dallas, Dr. Ghali graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry. His specialty interests led him to medical school at LSU Medical Center-Shreveport. Dr. Ghali returned to Dallas for an oral and maxillofacial residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, followed by a head and neck surgery fellowship at Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center in Portland, Oregon. He is certified by the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS-Ed).

Dr. Ghali continues to serve in leadership roles for national and international organizations related to his medical specialty: ACS, AAOMS, ABOMS and IAOMS. A resident of Shreveport since 1993, his past positions include professor and chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2004-2021), Dean of LSU School of Medicine (2016-2018) and Chancellor of LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport (2016-2021). He has been very active in resident, fellow and student education and he continues to train fellows today.

Dr. Ghali and his wife, Hope, have four children.
