Subhashree Ganguly and Dev Adhikari's last on screen outing Dhumketu was shot 10 years ago, just sometime post their infamous breakup. While both actors are thorough professionals in their own right, the film rewrote history recording the highest opening weekend of all times in Bengali cinema. Fans flocked to the theatres to catch a glimpse of their favourite jodi on screen - DeSu as they are popularly called. But right after the release, an interview clip of Dev went viral where he commented on Subhashree's innocence and how being a mother of two, she wouldn't be age appropriate to play Rupa's role if Dhumketu was made today. Not just that, he also adds that to keep his promise, he would still offer her the role of a parallel lead. In this episode of the Unspoken Podcast with Nayandeep Rakshit, Subhashree finally breaks silence on the matter and calls Dev's comments disrespectful towards women at large. She also hints at not wanting to work with Dev anymore after this and reveals that Rituparno Ghosh had wanted to make Radha Krishna with both of them but that never happened. The Lady Superstar also breaks silence on Dev calling their event 'scripted', on how she dealt with the break-up then and why it was husband Raj Chakraborty who convinced her to promote Dhumketu with her ex Bf without any discomfort.
