The President of India Droupadi Murmu visited Kigwema Village Thursday before her departure to Dimapur today.
The president was accompanied by state governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio, host of legislators, senior government officials and other dignitaries.
Upon her arrival at Kigwema, the president was accorded a warm welcome by the Kigwema Village Council.
After a brief programme, the President interacted with the Village Council members, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and the agriculturists at Kigwema Village Council Hall. She also visited the exhibition stalls set up by the SHGs where the Kigwema womenfolk demonstrated the traditional weaving and displayed varieties of agricultural products.
