Definitely the harbor of Avalon is for people who love civilization. However for those who look to get away from civilization into Catalina Island’s wilderness, then Two Harbors is your best choice. If not camping, Two Harbors is great to visit from morning to dawn as part of your visit to Avalon. There is a great restaurant at Two Harbors with the full bar and the TV broadcasting sports, therefore if traveling to Two Harbors from Avalon, do not need eat your breakfast at Avalon and instead, enjoy it at Two Harbors. Beach at Two Harbors is almost untouched by people and is never crowded. Great tiki style cabanas allocated all around the beach. Two Harbors names comes from the actual two harbors located on the opposite sides of each other. Ferry docks on the one, which I described above. The second harbor is a short walk away, which is great to take. Get comfortable shoes, since you won’t find any asphalt pavement to walk on. It’s very undeveloped and truly is exactly what makes it so beautifully different from the main stop of Avalon.
