Damming Decisions - Great Lakes Now - 1018 - Segment 2

Описание к видео Damming Decisions - Great Lakes Now - 1018 - Segment 2

Dams are being removed on rivers across the continent. As these rivers return to their natural states, one challenge is keeping invasive fish out while allowing native species to move freely. On the Boardman River in northwest Michigan, a state-of-the-art research facility will use a series of technologies to determine which fish go further upstream. The project can be a model for programs around the world.

Dam removal in the Pacific Northwest is covered in the PBS documentary series “The Age of Nature," which will air on PBS stations at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesdays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28, 2020. More information here: https://www.pbs.org/show/age-nature/
