How to Color Crystals Easily - Colorist's Special Effect - Helen Elliston

How to color crystals easily with colored pencils? Thanks to this tutorial, with only a few colors, you can easily color all the crystals and gems in your coloring books. There are a lot of them in the books of Hanna Karlzon for example !

Tuto crystals step by step by following the technique described by Helen Elliston in her book Colorist's Special Effect.

I am demonstrating with Prismacolor and Polychromos. This technique also works with any other range of pencils, just choose 3 different shades of the same color!

Color combinations used in the video:
FC = Faber Castell Polychromos / PC = Prismacolor

PC 1023 Cloud Blue
FC 157 Dark Indigo
FC 199 Black

Purple Crystals:
FC 194 Red Violet
