I thought that Catching the Boat from Santarem to Manaus was a good idea. And, to be honest, it wasn't a bad idea. But, it was much more difficult than I expected it to be. You see, riding a boat up the Amazon seems quite romantic, but it is hard! It's hot, it ca be boring, and did I mention it's hot? The locals take the boat from Santarem to Manaus as transport. Tourists taking it for fun are a bit few and far between.
Still, I actually had an amazing time on the boat up the Amazon, and though it was tough it was an experience I'll never forget.
