Tokyo International Pen Show 2023 Travel Vlog

Описание к видео Tokyo International Pen Show 2023 Travel Vlog

[RE-UPLOAD] TIPS 2023 was held over 3 days between Friday 3 Nov (designated Cultural Day and public holiday), Saturday 4 Nov, and Sunday 5 Nov 2023, at a convention centre in Minato City, Tokyo, Japan.

I was a little exhausted after 3 weeks of traveling, with Japan (Tokyo) being our second country destination, and the pen show being at the end of our stay in Japan.

Going into my first pen show, I was a bit overwhelmed with a sensory overload.

The whole thing felt like a blur and I missed A LOT. So I can't provide much commentaries. Having said that, for the parts which I managed to catch, I really did enjoy all of them very much!

A few of the things I missed were Shon DSGN's in-house new nib, and Toyooka Craf

Although I bought a 3 day pass we were only there for 3 hours and it was certainly not enough!

We started about 9.30 AM, and finished about 1 PM when we were hungry. We had a lovely lunch and then we went back to our hotel.

TIPS 2023 haul in a separate video.

The haul consists of:

Fountain pens

1) Lotus Pens: Hand painted fountain pen (India)
2) Schon DSGN: Aluminum pocket fountain pen (USA)
3) Sey Pen: Tsugaru-nuri lacquered fountain pen (Japan)

Ink

Quartier Latin from Bungubox x Sailor
(Bungubox is located in an area known as the Quartier Latin of Tokyo)

Notebooks

1) Neue Gray and # Wakami (They were part of a project by two Japanese paper mills: Ishikawa Paper Mills Ltd, and Yoshikawa Paper Co. Ltd.) -- If I understand things correctly, they were also at the San Francisco pen show earlier in the year.

2) Marbled Seven Seas Crossfield by Watanabe Bookbinding (The man standing there is the bookbinder, who is a 3rd generation Watanabe)
