This video made in August 1995 records a ride on PCC (Presidential Conference Committee) streetcar 4009, which was still in revenue earning service on route 47D between Drake and Castle Shannon.

Although Pittsburgh’s once extensive streetcar system had been reduced to a modern light rail covering two routes, the Port Authority Transit retained several refurbished 4000 series PCC cars to operate a shuttle service which connected with the light rail network.

Route 47 D was closed in September 1999. The remaining PCC cars were preserved at various locations in the US.
