Together, the companies have dosed the first patient in a phase one clinical trial that evaluates the safety of a novel, cancer-killing virus when used in patients with advanced solid tumours. Chong says the achievement brings Professor Fong's life's work into the clinic, and both parties are eager to unlock the oncolytic virotherapy platform's potential. Moving ahead, the multi-centre phase one trial will test the virus in a series of metastatic cancers, and a number of patients are already lined up to participate in the study.
