The 12(6) short barrelled class of pistol has been a prohibited item here in Canada since the last time the liberals took power and jammed a pile of rules down the throats of the legitimate firearm community back in 1995.

It was then that committees were generated that had little to no real knowledge of firearms, their function or the application of the law and produced some of the poorly thought out legislation ever passed in Canadian history.

The idea that legitimate firearm owners could be placed into the same category as drug dealers was inexcusable and that this small class of pistol could be characterized as poorly made and without value was ridiculous.

It was a testament to the nature of the laws generation and the mindset of the unqualified group gathered to participate in the process of furthering an anti-gun coalitions agenda to eliminate firearms from civilian ownership one small grouping at a time.

The end result is that some of Canada's finest citizens had their ability to buy, sell and legally trade these amazing collectibles severely restricted; while at the same time unnecessarily "diminishing" the value of property belonging to people that had never done anything wrong in their lives.

Imagine a world where the government stepped into your life and banned your car tomorrow, and then told you that you could no longer buy or sell it, except to other people that owned the same type of vehicle.

How hard do you think it would be then to get rid of it?

The resulting smaller market you were placed into, would turn your 50,000 dollar car into something that couldn't be sold for more than a fraction of its true value overnight.

By its very design the law was generated to ensure that the firearms were collected after owners passed away and is tantamount to a delayed confiscation.... these fine collectibles are still being destroyed systematically and it in this writers opinion unconstitutional.

There is also another VERY DANGEROUS side effect of this type of legislation that has come to light in the last 20 years.

As people grow older and realize that the government has needlessly reduced the value of their property, which ultimately is scheduled for destruction the moment you pass away.....

a situation that in MANY instances offers owners with no legal avenue to pass down family heirlooms to their children as it the case with all other legally owned property in estate law.....

....another phenomenon is occurring ....

people are giving family members instruction NOT TO ALLOW the property to be seized and destroyed by the government.

Many collections are magically going "missing" rather than giving in to what many would refer to as unlawful demand to turn over property FOR DESTRUCTION, rather than passing them down to their loved ones the way owners clearly should have a right to.

With the collections then being in possession of people that would ordinarily be completely law abiding citizens, the legislation that made them prohibited and was supposed to be designed to keep the public safer, then results in a much more dangerous situation by putting the firearms "into circulation" OUT of the hands of the properly trained or legally licenced.

The logic that generated the law did not take into consideration that 20 years later....honest hard working Canadians wouldn't attempt to find a way to STOP THE GOVERNMENT from robbing legitimate heirs from keeping their parents and loved ones most prized possessions in tact, or realizing some of the complete value of items such as this vest pocket in the video.

I would like to take a moment to remind everyone here that the CGV cannot endorse any violation of Canadian Law.

Its important to note this, as I have no intention of counselling people to engage in the practice of operating outside the law.

However I will suggest that further bans are irresponsible and actually do generate and further fuel a black market

and that the time has come to demand that legislators arrive at more intelligent solutions to the problems of violent crime involving firearms, and NOT look to punishing legitimate ownership as a solution as we HAVE NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM.

Contact Raph Goodales office today and let them know that the generation of this new firearm committee "REEKS" of a slanted Liberal view of legitimate firearm ownership, and that we will not allow another group of people that know nothing about guns to create laws that needlessly COST TAX PAYERS MILLIONS, and actually foster a more dangerous situation than anything they are currently trying to avoid.

LETS DEMAND MORE FROM OUR POLITICIANS and HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR A CHANGE.
