Yellowstone National Park: Contental Divide and Yellowstone Lake

On Sun, 19th of May we drove from the Yellowstone Snow Lodge via Continental Divide and Yellowstone Lake to our next Hotel, the Canyon Lodge


Continental Divide

The Continental Divide in Yellowstone National Park is a natural boundary that separates waters flowing to the Pacific Ocean from those flowing to the Atlantic Ocean.
This divide runs through the northern section of the park, creating a unique landscape where surface waters diverge based on the terrain.

Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone Lake is the largest high-elevation lake in North America, situated at 7,732 feet (2,357 meters) above sea level.
Covering 136 square miles (350 km²), it has an average depth of 139 feet (42 meters) and a maximum depth of 394 feet (120 meters).
