Video game addiction is now a disorder that can be diagnosed. As a parent, you may want to evaluate how addictive a video game is going to be before allowing your child to buy it. If you are a teen or adult video game player you may wonder how gaming may lead to dysfunction in your life as far as problems in relationships, trouble at work or school, or poor productivity as the hours seem to melt away. This video is part of the video game parent guide but is also part 1 of a 2 part video discussing the factors that make video games addictive for some. In the next video, I will go over 10 reasons why people can become addicted to video games if they do not monitor themselves.

Gaming should be fun and enjoyed in downtime, but be careful if begins to take priority over other important parts of your life.
