Ford fuel cut off switch (inertia switch) Part 1

Be sure to check for water intrusion into the switch, grounding of the terminals and the switch may trip and click when you reset it but still remain open if the metal contacts break off due to age. You can check for continuity with a multimeter, set the meter to ohms and if it reads OL after pushing the reset then you will need to replace it. And if it's your only vehicle and you're in a pinch then cut the two wires going to the switch, strip them back and connect them using a wire nut or black tape. But be sure to replace it soon as possible because it may prevent your car from catching fire if you are involved in a wreck.
