Ford Maverick DIY - How To Add Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition for $45 and Forscan!

Описание к видео Ford Maverick DIY - How To Add Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition for $45 and Forscan!

I just picked up my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT. It did not come with the Copilot 360 as I wanted as few options as possible so it would get built. Unfortunately that meant no lane keep assist or blind spot warnings. See More Below!

Thankfully the Maverick shares a lot of parts/coding with the Bronco Sport and Escape and people have figured out how to start adding in options their vehicle didn't come with - like the Lane Keep Assist!

The tools/parts you will need:
7mm socket/wrench
T8 torx socket
Plastic pry tool
Forscan w/ OBD2 adapter and the free extended license
Windows laptop
Turn signal stalk with lane keep assist. I used the cheaper version from an Explorer. Part# LB5T13335DAW. The part number on the box is LC5Z-13341-DA. You could also use the turn signal stalk from a Lincoln Aviator or Corsair if you wanted the extra chrome trim and gloss black look. The part number may also end in "BAW" instead of "DAW". Price for the turn signal switch I've seen as low as $45 new for the Ford Explorer style.

The entire process should take around 15-30 minutes. Most of that time is making sure the Forscan changes are done correctly.
1. Remove the two 7mm bolts at the bottom front of the steering column. Pry the clips from around the edges and the key hole rubber area. This will allow access to the turn signal stalk.
2. Remove the two T8 torx bolts at the top and bottom of the turn signal stalk. They are easy to strip out and drop, so take your time with these.
3. Insert the new turn signal stalk with the Lane Keep Assist button.
4. Put the steering column cover back on.
5. Make changes in Forscan.

Your Forscan changes needed may not be the same as mine as I have the same 4" instrument cluster as the XL and XLT. The Lariat without copilot 360 and the larger 6" screen will need different changes. I followed the instructions on what to change from mavericktruckclub.com at the below links. Before making any changes with Forscan make a backup for that module. You can also download your entire vehicle's As-Built data from Ford's website here if you forgot and need to reset everything.

I first made all the changes to add lane keep assist, then made the changes for adding traffic sign recognition. I didn't have any problems and could easily go back to original.
