2024 Outback Day 11 - Arkaroola to Muloorina

Описание к видео 2024 Outback Day 11 - Arkaroola to Muloorina

Drove from Arkaroola in the Gammon Ranges to Muloorina Station which is 50km north of Marree, and just south of Lake Eyre, South Australia. We knew the track to Lake Eyre from the property (Level Post Bay) was closed, so we first did a detour back to Lake Frome. It's a great little track heading east from Balcanoona. It was like driving through a wasteland. Kangaroos and emus, through the dingo fence again, then small sand dunes near the clay and salt pan. The salt was a bit thin but visible, and great tesselllations in the clay.
This mini movie features a couple of Gina clips and some Col drone shots.
Heading west again along Gammon Ranges road beside creek beds, through Nepabunna and the Copley mesas (and meat pies). Great grocery top up at Leigh Creek. The Birdsville Track suddenly re-opened today, so north it is! Fuel at Marree and then 50km north to Muloorina Station.
Muloorina was absolutely beautiful! We had the place to ourselves. Beautiful wetlands with birds and a pelican. Rode our bikes. Swam in an artesian pool in beautiful natural surroundings. Wine by the campfire.
Australian Outback.
End of May.
