STRUNG TRENG ON THE MEKONG RIVER BASIN : Spirit of Asia (April 12, 2020)

From the Mekong River in Wen Kam, Laos, we pass into Cambodian territory in the province of Stung Treng. The Mekong’s ecosystems are in a similar state throughout the different zones, and the riverbank villagers are struggling through the dry season. The inhabitants of the islets still depend on the water sources. For how much longer can they sustain themselves until the rainy season arrives? No-one has the answer. But for this moment in time, the people must triumph over this Mekong crisis that has fallen upon them. Join us on Sunday at 16.30 on ThaiPBS.
