Kazhakam is a 1996 Indian Malayalam film (Kerala State Film Award for Best Film) directed by MP Sukumaran Nair and starring Nedumudi Venu and Urvashi in the lead roles. The movie is about the life of people in and around a small temple in Kerala. Radha takes care of Sarada who behaves strangely at times. After the death of Kannan, Sarada's son, Radha too begins to behave strangely. Though the movie shows the life of people who earn their living by doing service in the temple , it particularly revolves around Radha a young and innocent girl who has given her entire life in doing services to God . She lives with her aged mother who lost her son Narayanan Kutty in an accident and lives in his memory. Sometimes she feels he is alive and has hallucinations about him. Radha is so kind and patient and attends all her needs. She makes garlands for Lord Krishna and milks the cows and give the milk to the society.
