In today’s time p0rn is the most heavily consumed genre of entertainment, whether for entertainment, education or addiction, it is a part of life today and forbidding people from watching it is not going to work.

There is more to being responsible, respectful citizens than doling out bans, laws or threats, instead the more intelligent thing is to make audiences aware of what they are watching, how to understand what is real or not and how to select content that will not be harmful to them either emotionally or physically.

I spoke with Erika of Erika Lust films about how they approach a deeply stigmatised subject; as a platform seeking to make erotic films more ethical in nature how they are changing the more problematic elements of mainstream p0rn, how do they shift the male gaze, what is the changed narrative on consent that they present and how?
