Born Rubel Brisolla, April 10, 1991 in Volta Redonda (Rio di Janeiro/Brazil), known as Rubel, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter . In September 2018 the album Casas received a nomination for the Latin Grammy in the category Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese Language .
At the age of seven he moved with his family to the state capital. Already installed in the city of Rio de Janeiro, he had a band, while studying in high school, called A Corleones, in which he played in a suit, having a musical style more connected to alternative rock .
He put music completely aside for about three years during college; period in which he went to study Cinema at PUC-RIO .
In 2011, Rubel went on an exchange program in the United States, in Austin, Texas, to study Cinema at the University of Texas at Austin and during this period he began to write his first songs. In 2013, she released her first work titled Pearl . The song "When Bate That Saudade" was a huge success on the internet, winning a music video in September 2015, directed by Rubel himself. In 2017 Rubel was awarded by Natura Musical to release his second album. In March 2018 the album Casas was released , with partnerships with Emicida and Rincon Sapiência , establishing a dialogue between MPB and Hip-Hop and R&B influences. The song "Partilhar" was included on the soundtrack of the telenovela Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras , and the song "Como Bate Quero Saudade" was included on the soundtrack of the superseries Onde Nascem os Fortes .
In September 2018, Casas was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese Language category . The album was also named the 20th best Brazilian album of 2018 by Rolling Stone Brasil magazine . The Casas album tour passed through more than 60 cities, including New York, Lisbon, Porto, and some of the main festivals in the country, such as Coala, Quero, Rock the Mountain, and sold out some of the main stages in the country, such as Circo Voador, Vivo Rio, Opera de Arame, Tom Brasil, Auditório Ibirapuera, Teatro Amazonas.
