Glad to finally be back for an HD retake of these (seemingly) thrice-modded lifts! Originally Express elevators, they were modernised the first time by Schindler in the 1990's, then OTIS stepped in with the maintenance contract and modernised everything but the buttons. And then even later than that, the ground floor lobby was completely done up with the presumably-OTIS LOPs being replaced in lieu of Dewhurst call buttons and large LCD indicators. You could debate on whether or not the last one counts and if it should technically count as 2 or 2.5 mods instead, but I'm calling it in favour of 3 just for how bizarre it is in general.
Now, aside from the upstairs call buttons—which, once again, were confirmed OTIS concave by OTISCompassRULES—you might not have guessed that OTIS also implemented the LCD indicator inside the elevators. Except, in the car I got, the indicator was bugging out like crazy for absolutely no reason, glitching between random floors, going out intermittently as if it's relay-controlled (clearly isn't), and even switching directions at times. Now, this is actually characteristically OTIS — I don't know what it is with their high-rise mod jobs, but something in the logic just makes indicators go crazy. We've also seen this glitchy indicator behaviour at the ANZ Centre (OTIS E401 mod. OTIS ×2, most recent w/ Compass360), HSBC Tower, and Harbour Tower (both OTIS mod. OTIS w/ CompassPLUS). I really don't wanna dog on OTIS for this, since it mostly occurs on third-party LCD indicators that they simply use, but come on — surely it has to be addressed? 😭
The rest of the lift is… well, fine, really. I'm not a huge fan of the yellowed circle on the grey plastic Schindler M-Series buttons — they're alright on the metallic ones, but it makes them look a bit "dirty" here. I was hoping to finally be able to step out for a look at the call stations on an upper floor, but unfortunately, reception in front of lifts seems to be rampant in this building, particularly on the uppermost unlocked floors…
On the ground floor, you can see how one of the lifts is completely boarded up — with no name attached anywhere, it could just be a matter of it being out of service, but surely you wouldn't need a whole cover like that just to repair a broken elevator? I tell you what; if these somehow get a 4th upgrade, I will be very shocked — that's got to be a record of some sort…
