PUSHA T - DAYTONA REACTION/REVIEW (Jungle Beats)

Upon first listen DAYTONA is near flawless. Pusha T THRIVES on minimalist instrumentation and Kanye did a phenomenal job producing this album. But it's not just the production that carries this project - Pusha reminds us all once again why he's got some of the best wordplay in the game. The only slump in this album is 'Hard Piano' - it seem's unfinished and out of place. But honestly, it's not a bad track and it will likely grow on us. We just wish it was either not there or more refined and thought through. Bar to bar...track to track...this album is cohesive...engaging...thoughtful...thought provoking and sonically head bopping hypnotising. We loved it...love it...and can't wait to go back to it. YUUGH!

To us, Australia doesn't have a strong hiphop identity within culture. Who do you think of when you think hiphop in Australia? Most think of 99 people OUTSIDE of this country. Maybe we can change that in some small way and push it forward. Jungle Beats is not what either of us focus the majority of our time on. Working on Jungle Beats Media is side hustle of ours, so it’s not going to be perfect. It’s gonna be messy, haphazard and we’re gonna fuck up. But that’s music and we love it.
