A performance (intercut with footage of local scenery) of shiyin bayue (十音八乐), also called Puxian shiyin bayue (莆仙十音八乐), a genre of traditional ensemble music featuring a wide variety of wind, string, and percussion instruments from Putian (莆田市), eastern Fujian province (福建省), southeast China. Putian is located between Fuzhou and Quanzhou.
The name of the ensemble is probably the Yu You Minyuedui (艺友民乐队, Arts Friends Folk Music Group) of Putian (莆田市), eastern Fujian province, southeast China. The titles of the pieces and names of the vocal soloists are as follows:

In 2011, the tradition of Puxian shiyin bayue, centering on Hanjiang District (涵江区) and Xianyou County (仙游县), Putian (莆田市), eastern Fujian province, southeast China, was included in the Fourth Batch of the Fujian Province Province-Level List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (福建省第四批省级非物质文化遗产名录).
Additionally, in 2014 the tradition of Puxian shiyin bayue, centering on Hanjiang District (涵江区), Putian (莆田市), eastern Fujian province, southeast China, was included in the Fourth Batch of China's National-Level Intangible Cultural Heritage List (第四批国家级非物质文化遗产名录) by China's Ministry of Culture (中华人民共和国文化部, known since March 2018 as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 中华人民共和国文化和旅游部). The sub-agencies responsible for maintaining these lists, both under the aegis of the aforementioned ministry, are the Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage (文化部非物质文化遗产司) and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center (中国非物质文化遗产保护中心, CICHPC).
