Manley - Massive Passive - KMR Demo Room

Manley Massive Passive is a dual channel, 4-band valve passive EQ characterised by an organic, highly musical sound.

An established modern classic, Massive Passive is suitable for a wide range of applications from subtle mastering corrections to vivid tone sculpting. Manley describe this unit as being “like a Pultec on steroids”, handling huge HF boosts without sibilance and beefy LF without muddiness.

Unlike most EQ designs, Massive Passive’s four frequency bands are built in parallel, rather than in series. This means that overlapping frequencies do not suffer from the cumulative effect of tweaking each band and as each band works independently from the exact same source, the result is much more transparent.

Each band can be set to bypass, boost or cut with a bell or shelf curve.  Each band is capable of 20dB of boost or cut with impressive headroom. Five extremely steep high-pass and low pass filters are also added to remove unwanted frequencies such as low-end rumble. Both HPF and LPF interact with the main parametric EQ section.
