Last week I posted a video on how to make Penang popiah or fresh spring rolls Penang-style, which is a tradition of Penang Hokkien Chinese, and my mother's tradition during Chinese New Year. I made my own popiah wrapper, also known as popiah skin since it's called "popiah puih" in my colloquial Penang Hokkien. "Puih" means "skin". Popiah is fresh spring rolls. This week is to learn how to make spring roll wrapper or spring roll sheet. In other countries, Philippine and Indonesia, it is known as lumpia or lumpia wrapper.
