Just 21 applications received during additional round of recruitment for trainee doctors in S. Korea

Back here in Korea.
The government's second round of recruitment for trainee doctors for the second half of this year has seen just 21 additional applications.
The Health Ministry announced this on Monday after the additional round of recruitment closed last week.
Out of the new applicants, 7 applied to the so-called big-5 hospitals in Seoul.
Adding to those that had already applied in the first round brings the total number of trainee applications to only 125, which is less than 2 percent of the recruitment quota.
Each training hospital is to select successful candidates as the training period for the second half is to start on September first.
