My twin bro and I recently completed Pokémon Diamond and Pearl together, games we were already most familiar with yet we enjoyed nonetheless. For the first time we were able to play with both versions on two consoles thanks to piracy which is awesome. It was a relaxed time. We spent much too long planting berries and playing in the underground and catching all Pokémon we came across to compare Pokédex entries. The games don't have the features and aspects of what many people like or want, yet what they do have is a vibe. A pleasant and innocent vibe that doesn't challenge or try to do anything profound and that is totally okay with me. I used a Pachirisu, Chatot and Bastiodon and they were so bad in battle and I love them so much.
It's actually purely vibe and atmosphere that I think let's down more recent Pokémon games, at least for me. I cannot say that I share the demands of the loud and the angry, but the current climate surrounding the Pokémon games and gaming as a whole is something I feel I must acknowledge.
There is a deep cynicism I feel towards the outrage and the hate in a world that is capable of so many cool and lovely things.
I don't think gamers have the right to ask for others to respect videogames as art while they continue to beg for more, beg for bigger and dare to call games cheap or rushed yet being unsatisfied and outraged when they aren't ready yet or don't exist at all.

I was going to talk more about my problems with peoples attitudes and feelings of entitlement and corporations being awful and the videogame industry being fuelled by money and pointless industry norms and the Game Awards pissing me off because no one can tell me what is better and worse because me feelings are my own and people who call big budget games the best and most artistic because of their super high production value annoys me because the only way they have reached that production value is because they are funded by corporate executives who want to sell and make money and does that mean that only the most lucrative companies can make the best art because if the difference between good and bad art is the amount of money behind them then I will gladly die because I don't want good art to rely on suit people and crunch culture and a million employees who don't have good pay or working conditions or artistic freedom because they don't but I think I will silence myself before I attempt to write the worst video essay ever...

I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I'm not kidding.
