How to Paint a Ghost on a Vintage Painting | Paint & Decorate with Me

Today I thought ti would be fun to try the viral TikTok ghost painting challenge. Trending on Tiktok is the most fun and cutest Halloween thrift art idea, where people shop for old pieces of art, prints, and oil paintings and paint adorable ghosts on them. I'm going to use some of the printable art I sell on my Etsy shop and I'll link it below. My daughter will demonstrate how to paint ghosts on a print and then I'm going to give it a try.

All you need is some white paint, black paint, and fine paintbrushes. We got the best results with 2 coats of paint for the body of the ghost and then she added a little black paint to the white to create shadows in the folds at the bottom of the ghost. Finally, she used black paint (or a paint marker works as well) to add eyes. Lastly, we added some decoupage following the original strokes of the original artist. This will give your print a realistic oil painting look.

This is a fun and inexpensive way to decorate for Halloween. We put our finished printables in frames. We did this and put it on the mantel. Another fun idea is to put your print on a clipboard with a pretty clip.
