British Army 58 Pattern Webbing - An Overview

The iconic cold war British webset that definitely lives rent free in our minds when we think about the Falklands. It went on to have a very long (really, too long) service life that even made it out to the Gulf war. We had a whole bunch of these arrive and its been years since we've had some so we figured we'd do a overview for those not familiar with it. We'll cover a bit of how it functions, feels & a lick of history. We know there is some UK veterans out there who absolutely love or loathe the stuff & who no doubt have their own 2p to add-we'd love to hear it!

As for the surplus market at time of writing - its still very reasonably priced but unless you are in the UK, its only surfacing now and then on the International scene. Question is, what do you think about the function of the stuff vs the historical role it played?
