※昨今のモーター、バッテリーの進化により車のEVは元より、模型の電動コントラも当たり前の様に活躍していますが模型飛行機の世界では実用のエンジン式コントラはほとんど見かけません‥。プロペラ直付けと大きく異なるのは2万回転を超えるクランクシャフト・サイドスラストの機構に長時間耐えるためには産業用機械工作精度が必要な部分もあり、ホビー用としては結構面倒なシステムゆえ「ならば自分が」と軽い気持ちで3年ほど前にENYA60X→   • contra rotating propellers (１号機) in ENYA60X  で試作しましたが‥、未だにのたうっている次第です(^^;)。実機ですと当然ですがパワー損失より効率のほうが遥かに勝りますが模型となると馬力損減比較からしてシャフト類ベアリング(12個)や歯車類(ベルトは全体抵抗大)の減速システムのパワー損失抵抗と振動対策、機械強度的重量増加etc‥で空中を自在に舞わせるのには地球の重力を減らすしかありませんが‥？。まあ何とか飛ばせそうなものが今回完成したので「無いものは作る！のMy工作ポリシー」で頑張ります。機体登録やら本来の目的でもあるコクピット内視システムFPV申請、専用ペラや機材類の準備やらまだやることが沢山あり、時代遅れのエンジン好き貧乏ジジイ？にはしんどい作業ですが来年の夏までには実飛行目標としています♪

※ While recent advances in motors and batteries have made electric contra-rotating propellers commonplace in car electric vehicles and even in model aircraft, practical engine-driven contra-rotating propellers are rare in the world of model aircraft. The biggest difference from direct-mounted propellers is that the crankshaft and side thrust mechanism must be able to withstand speeds exceeding 20,000 RPM, requiring industrial-level precision machining. This system is quite cumbersome for a hobbyist, so I thought, "I'll do it myself," and about three years ago I prototyped the ENYA60X → • contra rotating propellers (No. 1) in the ENYA60X...but I'm still struggling with it (^^;). While efficiency far outweighs power loss in a full-scale aircraft, when comparing horsepower loss in a model, the only way to fly freely through the air is to reduce Earth's gravity, given the power loss resistance and vibration countermeasures of the reduction system, including the shaft, bearings (12 pieces), and gears (belts have high overall resistance and wear quickly), as well as increased mechanical strength and weight. Well, I've managed to complete something that looks like it might fly, so I'll do my best with my "If it doesn't exist, make it!" crafting policy. There's still a lot to do, like registering the aircraft, applying for the FPV cockpit viewing system (which is the original purpose), and preparing the special propellers and other equipment. It's a tough job for a poor old man who likes old-fashioned engines, but I'm aiming to have it in the air by next summer ♪
