How to - VW Crafter DIY Camper Van Conversion. In this episode of my van build you can see how I built my own sealed and vented gas locker for the van,
the box dimensions are height 57cm x width 36cm x depth 36cm all external, door is same width height 56 cm to allow clearance at the base for opening and closing, the box is big enough for a 6kg bottle
This locker is fine for private use and will adequately contain any gas leaks, although it will not protect the cylinder in the event of a fire, but is better than havng an open cylinder. If you intend hiring out your van you will need to install a purpose made metal locker or at least a metal lined version of this.
