Yvette Clausen wasn’t supposed to be here. Decades after being sentenced to life in prison as a minor, Clausen was granted parole and now has become a successful self-employment counselor for Iowa’s Vocational Rehabilitation. In this episode of the Mission: Employable podcast, Clausen shares how she got an education while incarcerated and how she used IowaWORKS programs to help find employment after release. Hear about her current journey in obtaining a second master’s degree and how she’s putting her skills to use in helping fellow Iowans achieve their self-employment dreams.
