The story of Diriliş Ertuğrul is based on the history of the Muslim Oghuz Turks which take place in the 13th century. The story revolves around the life of Ertuğrul, The father of Osman (The founder of the Ottoman Empire).
One of the most powerful states during the 5th and 16th centuries was non-less than the Ottoman Empire created by the Turkish tribe in Anatolia. The great Empire lasted more than 600 years and ended in 1922.
