I Found England's LOST Oubliette! History's Most BRUTAL Execution/Torture Method!

Описание к видео I Found England's LOST Oubliette! History's Most BRUTAL Execution/Torture Method!

One of the most brutal and shocking execution and torture methods used throughout history was the oubliette. It was a horrific ordeal for a prisoner to go through, and was when a prisoner was thrown into a dungeon and was forgotten. There was no way out for someone in the oubliette, and they would simply be left to die being starved to death. Some oubliettes were even worse with the fact guards would throw human waste into the dungeon and cell, and they would hope that a prisoner would succumb to infection. Rats would eat the remains of former prisoners, and also it was so cramped that a prisoner would be forced to crouch for 24 hours a day, as they could not stand up or sit down. It was one of the worst tortures used in History, but inside one of England's greatest castles is a lost oubliette.

Corfe Castle has stood strong in England since the medieval period, and today it still stands despite being ruined by Cromwell's parliamentarians following the English Civil War. But inside one of the towers is an oubliette, a dungeon which was so brutal that 22 French guards were thrown down there. These French guards all died inside Corfe Castle's oubliette, slowly starved after they were thrown through a trapdoor in the ceiling. The oubliette at Corfe Castle today is lost, but it's story is still as haunting and chilling as it was during the Medieval period.
